Home away from home
One of the things that always strikes us is the vast array of projects that float through the Amsterdam Yacht Service facilities, from classic sailing superyachts to commercial vessels, tourist boats, and even bridge components.
It’s perhaps the greatest compliment we can receive when customers come back for a return visit to our state-of-the-art facilities in Amsterdam. Sometimes it’s for larger works that make use not just of our hardstanding areas or large sheds but also our expert inhouse team of engineers, carpenters and fitters – and sometimes it’s for general maintenance jobs.
We recently welcomed back two such yachts. The first was the 55-metre Feadship Kahalani. “She had been in at the start of 2025 for her five-year survey and other works, and she came back to us after the end of the summer season for regular maintenance jobs,” confirms Robert Binnekade, Managing Director of Amsterdam Yacht Service.
“We also welcomed back Sherakhan, which was in for general maintenance as well as to get a new ceramic topcoat on her paint,” he continues. “In fact, it was her fourth visit to us. They have their own workshop on board because they cruise a lot of remote regions, but they come to us for larger maintenance jobs. She’s a huge yacht – and they need a place to facilitate her, which we can offer.”
With the European winter now closing in, it’s the perfect time to take care of those maintenance projects, tackle any minor refreshes, or take on more involved upgrading, refitting or repair works – and with our extensive facilities and expert inhouse team available to help or facilitate, there’s nowhere better to do it than AYS. Just ask our (repeat) customers!
